Together We Are One: September 2009

Raiders vs. Vikings

Captains- Shane R. #22, Mason S. #4, Dalton K. #19, Christian #11 , Kolten S #32, Chance H. #26

Well as usual this game takes on a life of its own. There is always a year long build up for this game and it never seems to disappoint. The Raiders had a great week of practice full of intensity and focus, the boys showed up on Saturday afternoon very confident, none of the boys seemed nervous at all. They would of played the game on Wednesday if that would have been a option, they just wanted to get out there and hit somebody, and that's exactly what they did. The game started out with the Raiders recovering a fumble and then the Offense took over with a few great runs capped off with a touchdown pass to Shane R from Jerred S. Our defense was stellar all day playing through the whistle for 4 Qtrs. There was great plays all day in all three areas of the game Offense, Defense and Special Teams. We did run into some problems early when our Center and Linebacker Chance H. went out with a concussion, he is not easy to replace but the coaches are very proud of the boys for shuffling around and having each others back and helping out in new positions. Jerred S also threw a sweet T.D. pass to Cam T. in the back of the end zone followed up by another good PAT by Bo B. Everyone played great Saturday and did their part to ensure a VICTORY, some standouts were Christian A. running like a beast, Justin S is in on almost every tackle, Dallin C. excellent on Special Teams and at Safety, Jerred some great throw-aways not taking a sack, Andy W, Trenton G. and Sam B. great job in the secondary, Shane R. in the punting game, and the big boys playing hard on every play. Coach could honestly name every player and give you a number of things they did well to help the team win on Saturday. Coach is so very proud of the boys for the way they performed and the EFFORT they gave for 4 QTRS. Good game Raiders.

Raiders Vs Marsh Valley

Captains-Kolten S.#32, KaiganY#9, Jerred #7, Mason S #4, Dalton #19, Shane R #22

The Eagles from Marsh Valley traveled to the home of the Raiders for an early morning game. The Raiders had a tough challenge to match up with the size and strength of the Eagles. Brandon, Donnie, Kolton W, Joe C and Cody C did such a great job the whole game going against those big boys. The LBs and Dbs also did a great job holding the Eagles to very few yards. Offensively the air attack was impressive Jerred was 20 for 21 with many yards and a TD passes his read were awesome the whole game. The O-line was great(Bo, Dalton, Chance, Justin, Kolten S) They gave us all day to throw. There was some sweet catches by all of our receivers including a touchdown catch by Nate # 8 and a tough snag by Cameron . The Running backs also did a great job and ran hard. Both Christian and Dallin had long TD runs thanks to some great blocks. This was such a fun game the boys were great and finally played a full 4 quarters of Raider football.Christian and Chance both earned captain spots for next week due to their playing. Also Congrats to Chance on his Interception that he almost returned for a TOUCH DOWN.
